TRANSLATION AS A MEAN OF INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE

Abstract :

This article seeks to highligh the role of translation in culutural interaction. It is a problematic that i tried, by going into it, to raise an important aspect that can be reduced to the following : How does translation become a means to establish dialogue between cultures ? In what way does translation play its full role to create a balanced interculturalism based on mutual enrichment and not on cancellation and differentiation ? What areas interculturalism does translation span ? How does translation become a tool
for opening up to the other based on belief in pluralism and difference ? What is the way to preserve cultural identity while at the same time being open to and interacting with different cultures ?
