TOLERANCE OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT: A REVIEW OF THE PSYCHO-SOCIOLOGICAL LITERATURE ON A CRIMINAL PHENOMENON
ABSTRACT:
The socio-cultural context of Morocco is favorable to sexual harassment, which is visibly evident in public settings. But, despite its frequency, few studies address it from the quantitative perspective of ambivalent sexism, gender social roles, and tolerance. Existing works resort to analytical approaches of legal and judicial records, or proceed with intuitive reflections on the overarching theme of violence against women. To fill this gap, the authors of this paper seek to selectively present the literature that have directly addressed the topic of tolerance to sexual in light of gender roles and ambivalent sexism.
Keywords: Ambivalent Sexism, Equality, Gender, Roles, Sexual Harassment, Tolerance.
